About UET and its ECAT Entry test
University of Engineering and Technology (UET) is one of the renowned and prestigious public sector engineering universities of Pakistan. UET has 4 sub campuses with 26 different teaching departments.
For Admission in UET bachelor programs, It is compulsory that you have completed your intermediate/diploma and taken the UET entry test also called ECAT.
UET ECAT test 2019 will take place somewhere in mid July 2019.The exact ECAT test date 2019 is yet to confirm by the UET Lahore. Competition for admission in UET is huge. According to reports, about 50,000 candidates appeared in UET ECAT test in 2018. While only about 3500 seats are available for new admissions. So from that, you can imagine the intensity of competition.

ECAT (full form as Engineering Colleges Admission Test) is an objective type (multiple choice questions) MCQs based exam that is a compulsory to be taken by candidates who want to take admission in UET and associated UET affiliated Engineering Universities. Although many other engineering universities like NUST, PIEAS, GIKI etc do not require ECAT and have their own entry test for interested candidates

Preparing Past Papers of any test, is the best way to prepare that test in short time and get good marks. Past Papers really help in understanding the test, you can quickly get a sense of difficulty level, what kind of questions are asked? and how are they asked? Then according to that you can quickly and effectively prepare your test.

Preparation Material - UET ECAT 2019 Test
UET ECAT Test consist of 100 MCQ's in which 10 from English, 30 from mathematics/Biology, 30 from Physics, and 30 from optional subject Chemistry/Computer/Statistics. Each MCQ carry 4 Marks So Total Marks are (100*4=) 400. Each of 3 Science subjects has equal weight in the test. So prepare them well.

- 1. How many marks did I need to get admission in UET?
- Ans : It all depends upon the discipline you choose.The aggregate of all disciplines is given above. You can an idea of how much you need to score.
- 2. Do I need to attempt all questions to pass the test?
- Ans: No it isn't necessary.You need to attempt those question for which you are sure.Any wrong answer will deduct your one.So be careful while attempting.Each single of ECAT is very important
- 3. Where does the ECAT comes from?
- Ans: ECAT is totally from your F.Sc. Textbook.You just need to focus on the each and every sentence and grab its concepts. Cramming will not help you any more.
- 4. What type of questions are usually asked?
- Ans: In order to get a better idea of what type of questions are asked in ECAT, you should look up its past papers. Sometimes a major portion is from past papers.
