UET Aggregate/Merit Formula


In Total Merit, 70% marks of Intermediate/Equivalent Exam and 30% marks of ECAT marks are counted. So in order to evaluate your aggregate or merit, do as following;

MERIT =  ( 0.7 x  % of F.Sc/Equivalent ) + ( 0.3 x  % of ECAT)

* ECAT is very important along with Intermediate marks because if you do not score good in ECAT then you cannot take admission in good Engineering field. So make your every moment count and prepare well.
* Students should prepare for their FSC examinations well so that they can easily prepare for ECAT after that. The ECAT is usually conducted in month of July and the registrations starts 5 weeks before that . After getting selected, classes commences in October.

FAQ

1. How many marks did I need to get admission in UET?
Ans : It all depends upon the discipline you choose.The aggregate of all disciplines is given above. You can an idea of how much you need to score.
2. Do I need to attempt all questions to pass the test?
Ans: No it isn't necessary.You need to attempt those question for which you are sure.Any wrong answer will deduct your one.So be careful while attempting.Each single of ECAT is very important
3. Where does the ECAT comes from?
Ans: ECAT is totally from your F.Sc. Textbook.You just need to focus on the each and every sentence and grab its concepts. Cramming will not help you any more.
4. What type of questions are usually asked?
Ans: In order to get a better idea of what type of questions are asked in ECAT, you should look up its past papers. Sometimes a major portion is from past papers.

      As mentioned in above FAQ section, it depends on what discipline you want to apply. Calculate the aggregate based on your expected marks and compare it with previous merit lists. you will have an idea how much you need more to reach the merit.

      If you want to apply in architectural Engg.,then according to previous merit list, any marks more than 195 will be safe for admission.

      Merit/Aggregate for each field vary every year. In 2018, for Automotive engineering, it was 70.27.
      For this year 2019, however, merit/aggregate for each department would be declared soon. Stay Tuned for updates!

      It seems difficult as last year the aggregates required for 76.93 and your is below. You can get admission in other engineering fields.
